PRODUCT DETAILS AND FAQ’S
How does 4nB reduce pigmentation?
4-N-Butylresorcinol (4NB) works by targeting tyrosinase, a key enzyme involved in melanin production. Melanin is the pigment responsible for dark spots and uneven skin tone. By inhibiting tyrosinase, 4NB helps slow down excessive melanin production, which can lead to a more even complexion.
Studies show that 4NB is significantly more effective than ingredients like kojic acid in reducing pigmentation, and it is gentle enough for consistent use without irritating the skin.
What makes Enlighten effective for erasing pigmentation?
Our Enlighten is a twice a day 'active ingredient' moisturiser. It is a tyrosinase inhibitor (4-n-butylresorcinol – 0.1%) and an antioxidant (Niacinamide – 5%) based cream to lighten and brighten skin appearance and provide a more even skin tone.
Niacinamide provides visible improvements within 3 weeks. 4-n-butylresorcinol significantly improves outcomes after 2 – 3 months of continuous use. For management of hyperpigmentation and age spots.
Why use 4nB?
Think of 4nB as the gentle powerhouse your skin needs. It’s a superstar ingredient that tackles dark spots and hyperpigmentation without the drama (aka irritation). It works behind the scenes to stop excess melanin production, helping your skin stay smooth, bright, and even-toned.
Where does Enlighten sit in my routine?
You just need to use it once per day, but you can use it twice if you like! Enlighten loves flexibility! Use it in the morning after cleansing (or after your vitamin C serum) to start your day fresh. At night, it’s equally happy sitting on top of your Ultimate A night cream or straight after cleansing. Whether AM or PM, it's always got your back!
Can this be used for melasma during pregnancy?
Absolutely! Enlighten is pregnancy-safe, so you can tackle melasma without worries. It’s a gentle yet effective way to keep those pigmentation spots in check.
Why is 4nB better to use than Hydroquinone?
Hydroquinone might be strong, but it’s not for everyone (hello, irritation!). 4nB gives you the same brightening magic, but in a gentler, more skin-loving way. And with niacinamide in the mix, Enlighten does more than just brighten—it also repairs and hydrates your skin, making it healthier and glowier over time!

TYPES OF PIGMENTATION
MELASMA
Irregular dark patches on sun-exposed skin, often on the face and neck. There are two types—epidermal (lighter and responds to treatment) and dermal (deeper, grayish, and tougher to treat).
AGE SPOTS
Also called solar or actinic lentigines, these sun-induced dark spots appear later in life, commonly on the face, neck, hands, and forearms.
POST INFLAMMATORY PIGMENTATION
Dark spots left after skin injuries like acne, eczema, burns, or treatments like laser and cryotherapy.
