We've swapped Ultimate A with the new Ultimate A Gold. If you prefer Ultimate A, you can build your own kit here.
*Ultimate A Gold (Retinal) may transfer onto white or light-coloured fabrics. For best results, we recommend using darker clothing or surfaces to avoid visible marks.
ESK Benefits
Dry, aging or pigmented skin.
If you have sensitive or acne prone skin, please take our Skin Quiz or reach out to customer support at info@eskcare.com
4-n-butylresorcinol
4-n-Butylresorcinol helps improve the appearance of pigmentation and supports an even-looking skin tone.
Retinal
Also known as Vitamin A, Retinal is a next-generation retinoid used in skincare to help refine skin texture and improve the appearance of uneven tone and visible signs of ageing. It’s well tolerated and suitable for most skin types, including those that find traditional retinoids too harsh.
Niacinamide
Also known as Vitamin B3. Niacinamide is a well-studied ingredient that helps maintain a healthy skin barrier and supports an even-looking skin tone. It is well tolerated and suitable for all skin types, making it a versatile addition to many skincare formulations.
L-Ascorbic Acid
Also known as Vitamin C, L-Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) is a well-studied antioxidant that helps improve the appearance of uneven skin tone and supports smoother-looking skin.
Ferulic Acid
Ferulic acid’s emerging evidence suggests it can improve the effectiveness of Vitamin C and help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Ceramides
Emerging evidence suggests that smaller ceramides support the skin’s surface and help maintain hydration and the appearance of a healthy skin barrier.
Hyaluronic Acid
The optimum size of Hyaluronic Acid for skincare is still a topic of research. Emerging evidence suggests that medium-size HA can support skin hydration and help improve the appearance of skin smoothness and plumpness.
Lactobionic Acid
Lactobionic Acid is a Polyhydroxy Acid (PHA) that works as a gentle exfoliant and humectant. It helps to smooth skin texture and improve the appearance of dullness without the irritation often associated with stronger acids. PHAs like Lactobionic Acid also attract moisture, supporting hydrated and visibly refreshed skin.
Gluconolactone
Gluconolactone is a Polyhydroxy Acid (PHA) with gentle exfoliating and hydrating properties. It helps to remove dead skin cells from the skin’s surface, supporting a smoother and more refined appearance without the irritation often linked to stronger acids.

Frequently Asked Questions
This three-product kit focuses on the appearance of uneven skin tone, pigmentation, sun spots and the visible signs of skin aging. It combines Vitamin C (C Forte), a pigmentation-targeted moisturiser during the day (Enlighten Gold), and a comprehensive Retinal-based night cream (Ultimate A Gold).
- C Forte — Your morning Vitamin C serum (L-Ascorbic Acid). Vitamin C is an antioxidant, which means it neutralises the free radical damage caused by UV and environmental exposure throughout the day. It also interferes with the enzyme responsible for producing pigment in the skin, which helps support a more even skin tone over time. Applied after cleansing each morning, before Enlighten Gold.
- Enlighten Gold — Your daytime moisturiser, reducing the appearance of pigmentation specifically. The hero ingredient is 4-n-Butylresorcinol (4nB) — a pigmentation inhibitor with strong evidence behind it that works by blocking the enzyme that kickstarts melanin production. Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) adds a second line of attack by stopping melanin from transferring into the surrounding skin cells. PHAs provide gentle exfoliation and keep things hydrated. Applied after C Forte.
- Ultimate A Gold — Your Vitamin A night cream, and the most comprehensive product in the kit. Retinal is the most efficient over-the-counter form of Vitamin A (more effective than Retinol, without the irritation)— it supports skin cell turnover, helps maintain skin texture, and also works on uneven skin tone. It's supported by a full cast of barrier-strengthening actives including Ceramides, Hyaluronic Acid, and Niacinamide. Applied at night after cleansing.
L-Ascorbic Acid is inherently unstable — it oxidises when exposed to air, light, and heat, losing potency as it degrades. An oxidised Vitamin C product (which typically turns orange or brown) will have significantly reduced effectiveness. C Forte is formulated at the correct pH for L-Ascorbic Acid stability, stored in airless opaque packaging, and should be kept away from direct sunlight and heat. This is why droppers and clear bottles aren't suitable for Vitamin C!
We don't recommend this kit for these skin concerns. Please take our Skin Quiz or reach out to info@eskcare.com to tailor products suited to your skin type for best results!
Both are forms of Vitamin A, but they sit at different points on the conversion pathway to the active form the skin actually uses. Retinol needs to convert twice before it becomes active. Retinal only needs to convert once — meaning it gets to work more directly and efficiently. This makes Retinal the most potent over-the-counter Vitamin A available, stronger than Retinol and better tolerated than prescription-strength tretinoin. It's the sweet spot between efficacy and tolerability, which is why it's the form ESK uses.
