Retinal

Also known as Vitamin A, Retinal is a next-generation retinoid used in skincare to help refine skin texture and improve the appearance of uneven tone and visible signs of ageing. It’s well tolerated and suitable for most skin types, including those that find traditional retinoids too harsh.

4-n-butylresorcinol

4-n-Butylresorcinol helps improve the appearance of pigmentation and supports an even-looking skin tone.

Niacinamide

Also known as Vitamin B3. Niacinamide is a well-studied ingredient that helps maintain a healthy skin barrier and supports an even-looking skin tone. It is well tolerated and suitable for all skin types, making it a versatile addition to many skincare formulations.

Zinc Oxide

Zinc Oxide is an ingredient that forms a protective layer on the skin and helps reduce visible signs of irritation from environmental exposure.

Glycolic and Lactic Acid

Also known as Alpha Hydroxy Acids. Glycolic and Lactic Acid exfoliate and smooth the skin surfaces.

Ceramides

Emerging evidence suggests that smaller ceramides support the skin’s surface and help maintain hydration and the appearance of a healthy skin barrier.

Hyaluronic Acid

The optimum size of Hyaluronic Acid for skincare is still a topic of research. Emerging evidence suggests that medium-size HA can support skin hydration and help improve the appearance of skin smoothness and plumpness.

Lactobionic Acid

Lactobionic Acid is a Polyhydroxy Acid (PHA) that works as a gentle exfoliant and humectant. It helps to smooth skin texture and improve the appearance of dullness without the irritation often associated with stronger acids. PHAs like Lactobionic Acid also attract moisture, supporting hydrated and visibly refreshed skin.

Hydroxy Cleanser

Wet Face with warm water, apply 2-3 pumps of cleanser to fingertips and gently massage into lather on face and neck. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. For added benefit on oily and acne prone skin; following lathering, leave for 10 minutes prior to washing off.

OR

Calming Cleanse

Wet face with warm water, apply 2-3 pumps of cleanser to fingertips and gently massage on face and neck. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.

Apply 1 – 2 pumps to fingertips and apply to face after cleansing in the morning. Also for use on décolletage, back of hands and forearms. For use on normal skin, oilier and acne prone skin.

Zinc Shade is a lightweight matte day cream. It also provides broad-spectrum sun protection with an SPF of 15 to provide broad-spectrum protection against UVA and UVB rays. Its non-greasy, matte finish allows for smooth application and works well under makeup.

We spent countless iterations perfecting this lightweight, non-greasy formula to avoid the typical white cast and thick feel of zinc products. The results? This kit is designed for anyone starting out with active skincare ingredients for the first time, or looking to simplify and reset an existing routine. The product selection covers the fundamentals — a pH-balanced cleanser, a morning moisturiser with barrier-supporting actives, daily broad-spectrum sun protection, and a Retinal-based night cream. It's appropriate for all skin types and the cleanser choice lets you tailor it to your skin: Hydroxy Cleanser for normal to oily skin, Calming Cleanse for dry or sensitive skin. It's safe for acne prone and sensitive skin. 

Hydroxy Cleanser — A lightly foaming, soap-free cleanser at pH 4.5–5 containing low concentrations of Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, and Salicylic Acid. Suited to normal, combination, and oilier skin types. For those with oily or congestion-prone skin, leaving the lather on for up to 10 minutes before rinsing allows more contact time with the exfoliating acids. Not suitable for sensitive skin. 

Calming Cleanse — A non-foaming, cream based, pH balanced cleanser. Suited to dry, sensitive, and reactive skin types, including those with eczema or rosacea. Can also be used as a makeup remover.

If you're unsure, the Calming Cleanse is the more conservative starting point. You can always move to the Hydroxy Cleanser once you know how your skin responds to the other actives in the kit.


  • Hydroxy Cleanser or Calming Cleanse — See above. Both are soap-free, pH-balanced, and formulated to cleanse without disrupting the skin barrier.
  • B Calm — A morning moisturiser with Niacinamide (Vitamin B3), Ceramides, and Salicylic Acid. Niacinamide is one of the most well-studied topical ingredients for supporting the skin barrier and helping to maintain an even skin tone. Ideal for also managing breakouts. 
  • Zinc Shade — A broad-spectrum SPF 15 matte day cream with Zinc Oxide to protect against UVA & UVB rays. 
  • Ultimate A Gold — A Retinal night cream to help support reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, dull skin and pigmentation. Retinal is the most efficient over-the-counter form of Vitamin A, requiring only one conversion step to become active in the skin. It supports skin cell turnover, which helps maintain skin texture and an even-looking tone over time. This is ESK's most comprehensive night cream to date.
