"So i’ve been using ESK for about 6 weeks now and i’m super happy with the results. Photo (no filter on either) on the left is before incase it’s not obvious. "At first, I wasn’t sure how well it worked, but now that I’ve seen the comparison photos, I’m really impressed. It’s way better than I thought it was going to be. When I first started using it the first couple of days, I thought there was a bit of tightness and dryness, but when I got used to using it, I realised that wasn't really the case, I think it was just a case of my skin settling down. "My skin has never been super great but it hasn't been super problematic either. It's that traditional combination skin that gets a lot of hormonal breakouts. What is 4-n-butylresorcinol?
Treating pigmentation is a marathon, not a sprint, with benefits often taking up to 3 months to appear. The ingredient, 4-n-Butylresorcinol directly inhibits the activities of tyrosinase and tyrosinase-related protein-1 (TRP-1) which are enzymes essential for making the melanin pigment in the first place. Other tyrosinase inhibitors, like Hydroquinone are as effective as 4-n-Butylresorcinol but can cause irritation and even rebound pigmentation when you stop using it. These are side effects we don’t see with 4-n-Butylresorcinol.
