Teenage Acne Kit

Acne shows up when your skin responds with inflammation to an excess of the C Acnes bacteria. Excess oil production and an irregular skin cell turnover combine to block pores in the skin, creating the conditions where the bacteria flourish.

With that in mind and designed for teen skin, this kit helps restore a balanced skin surface and supports the appearance of smooth, clear skin. With evidence-based ingredients helping regulate oil and maintain a hydrated, comfortable feel.

Niacinamide

Also known as Vitamin B3. Niacinamide is a well-studied ingredient that helps maintain a healthy skin barrier and supports an even-looking skin tone. It is well tolerated and suitable for all skin types, making it a versatile addition to many skincare formulations.

Retinal

Also known as Vitamin A, Retinal is a next-generation retinoid used in skincare to help refine skin texture and improve the appearance of uneven tone and visible signs of ageing. It’s well tolerated and suitable for most skin types, including those that find traditional retinoids too harsh.

Glycolic and Lactic Acid

Also known as Alpha Hydroxy Acids. Glycolic and Lactic Acid exfoliate and smooth the skin surfaces.

Salicylic Acid

Salicylic Acid gently exfoliates the skin. It helps improve skin texture and supports a smoother, more refined appearance.

Ceramides

Emerging evidence suggests that smaller ceramides support the skin’s surface and help maintain hydration and the appearance of a healthy skin barrier.

Frequently Asked Questions

Acne develops when excess sebum (oil) and irregular skin cell turnover combine to block pores, creating an environment where Cutibacterium acnes bacteria, present on everyone's skin overgrow and trigger inflammation. During puberty, androgens surge and directly increase sebum production, which is why acne shows up so reliably in the teenage years. It's not about being dirty or having bad skin habits. It's mostly biology doing its thing.

  • Hydroxy Cleanser:

A soap-free, pH-balanced cleanser (pH 4.5–5) that removes excess oil and impurities without stripping the skin barrier. Maintaining an acidic pH matters: skin's natural microbiome functions best in that range, and disrupting it can actually make breakout-prone skin worse.

  • B Calm:

A morning moisturiser combining Niacinamide (Vitamin B3), Ceramides, and Salicylic Acid. Niacinamide helps regulate oil production and supports the skin barrier. Salicylic Acid is a beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) that is oil-soluble, meaning it can penetrate into the pore lining and exfoliate from within, which is why it's one of the most well-supported topical ingredients for acne.

  • Ultimate A+:

A night cream with 0.1% Retinal (Vitamin A), Niacinamide, and 2% Glycolic Acid. Retinal converts to retinoic acid in the skin and has strong evidence behind it for normalising skin cell turnover, reducing comedone formation, and improving skin texture. It's the next-generation form of Vitamin A and is better tolerated than older Retinoids like Retinol.

  • Hydroxy Overnight Mask:

A weekly overnight treatment with 5% Salicylic Acid and 10% Urea. Use it 1–2 nights per week in place of Ultimate A+, or apply it directly to individual blemishes as a spot treatment.

It can be. When you introduce actives like Retinal and Salicylic Acid, there can be an initial purging phase as the increased cell turnover brings congestion already sitting below the skin's surface up and out faster than it would have on its own. This typically settles. If you're experiencing significant irritation rather than just a few new blemishes, scale back to every second night with Ultimate A+ and build up gradually.

Yes. Retinal is a well-studied retinoid that has been used in dermatology for decades. The 0.1% concentration in Ultimate A+ is effective but well-tolerated, particularly for oilier skin types, which tend to handle retinoids better than dry or sensitive skin. The only exceptions are during pregnancy, Vitamin A isn't recommended.

This kit is formulated for younger, oilier, and acne-prone skin. If your skin sits on the more reactive or sensitive end of the spectrum, start slowly, introduce one new product at a time and use Ultimate A+ every second night initially rather than nightly. If redness or irritation persists, reach out to us at info@eskcare.com

Yes, and you should. UV exposure can cause inflammation that can worsen existing breakouts and increase the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (the dark marks that linger after a blemish heals). A broad-spectrum SPF applied over B Calm each morning is a worthwhile addition to the routine. We recommend using our Zinc Shade (broad spectrum sunscreen which won't cause breakouts + has UVA & UVB damage).

Yes! Apply a small amount directly to individual pimples as needed. The 5% Salicylic Acid concentration makes it effective for targeting active spots! And yes you can do this throughout the day!
